So what’s the big draw?
"The municipality covers just under 80 kmtrs and there are only 5 hamlets which you could say are within easy walk to Arboleas centre where you have cafes bars some shops banks gym, Saturday market, hairdressers, pharmacy, bakery etc. The hamlets (all of which you'll find welcoming and super friendly) are La Judea only 20 or so villas Apadero about the same parts of La Perla, LA Cueva and Las Golondrinas. Other than, La Judea which is the closest, the others are a fairly easy 12 to 20 min walk to Arboleas centre but as many have already pointed out in the heat of Spring/Summer even if you can unlikely to walk to supermarket or shops. All the other hamlets, are for most to far to walk, have no shops but perhaps 1 or 2 bars or a restaurant." - Richard Clarke
What do people love about it?
Arboleas offers all year round living but if you want a lock up and go holiday home, this is a great area:
It offers spacious villas with pools for holiday rentals that is cost effective. but there's several supermarkets within 20mins, a few Spanish bars in the village, a fantastic pizzeria and several more restaurants within a short drive too.
And... what do people NOT love about it?
You'd need a car to explore other areas as public transport is not suitable for holiday makers. 30 mins or so to the beach, 25 to the waterpark, an hour to Mini Hollywood or Texas Hollywood and Sorbas Caves, 20 mins to Luna Park in Cuevas Almazora, 10 mins to the bowling alley, 45 mins to Lorca and its castle, just over an hour to Cartagena and the roman ruins.
And what’s my new local?
Bar Cortijo Andaluz and Harmony's Bar come recommended
Alternatives:
D'Luigis Pizzeria and The New Trinidad
Schools and supermarkets?
Schools and Education:
COLEGIO PÚBLICO NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ASUNCIÓ
COLEGIO PÚBLICO RURAL MEDIO ALMANZORA
In the village, there is a post office, Bakery, medical centre, chemist, library and smaller supermarkets
